Background of the Study
Youth unemployment is a pressing issue in many parts of Nigeria, including Shagari LGA in Sokoto State. In response to this challenge, advertising has emerged as a potential tool for encouraging youth engagement in skill development programs, entrepreneurship, and job opportunities. Advertising campaigns that highlight employment opportunities, vocational training, and government initiatives can raise awareness and motivate youth to pursue employment avenues. According to Olayemi et al. (2023), advertising has proven effective in shaping perceptions and behaviors related to employment, especially in regions with high unemployment rates. However, the specific impact of advertising on reducing youth unemployment in Shagari LGA is not well documented. This study will examine the effectiveness of advertising in reducing youth unemployment in Shagari LGA, Sokoto State.
